The VTC Innovation Fund is a venture capital fund which invests in early-stage life sciences and technology opportunities in, or with a strong connection to, the Commonwealth of Virginia. In conjunction with a broad network of resources across Virginia, the Fund leverages its management team and advisory board’s unique breadth of industry experience and relationships to partner with exceptional management teams to commercialize innovative technologies, accelerate growth, and build long-term value across the Commonwealth.

Mission
While Fund’s primary focus is superior risk-adjusted returns within the venture capital asset class, the intended and desired consequence of investing in high growth companies in Virginia includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Enhance and diversify the economic base in the Roanoke and New River Valleys by fostering the creation and retention of high growth businesses and jobs.
- Promote entrepreneurship and encourage the development and growth of a vibrant regional entrepreneurial community.
- Facilitate the private sector commercialization of promising technology from Virginia Tech and Carilion.
- Attract investments from regional and national venture capital firms.
- Foster public and private partnerships within the region.
